Meet The Silkworm

Have you met the silkworm? Even if you don’t know the worm you know the work. The work is a natural process for the silkworm. It is the cocoon of the silkworm what we are interested in. Silkworms live in captivity where they work for the enjoyment of fashion. In the process of growing into a moth the silkworm produces a single cocoon. The cocoon is crafted from a single thread of fine silk.

The silk fashion industry is built upon this single thread of silk. Actually the industry is crafted from countless single threads of silk. A single silkworm will spin a cocoon that when unwound generally measures in length of more than 3000 feet (more than 900 meters). That is quite a thread! Somewhere between 2500 to 3000 silkworm cocoons are needed to produce a pound of silk. Silk is all about the thread of silk. This amazing thread is strong, and refractive, and soft with fine texture. Truly, silk is an amazing gift of nature.

The reality is that pound for pound steel is not as strong as silk. Silk also has extreme flexibility, the ability to bend and stretch without breaking. Silk has the benefit of luster, refractive ability, which adds to it perfect application to the fashion industry. Strength, shimmering color, and flowing beauty; what more could a person ask for?

Of course one single strand of silk thread from the silkworm’s cocoon is not enough to make a fine silk scarf nor any other garment. It takes the combining of these threads. By twisting the threads together during the cocoon unwinding process usable silk threads are produced. The twisted threads are then dyed to add color. These color filled threads are then woven into the cloth that creates silk fashions.

We thank the nature of the silkworm for producing the fine threads of silk for our fine silk fashions and silk scarves. All the hard work of building cocoon, giving their lives for the single thread that hold strength, brilliance, beauty, and the desired colors of silk scarf fashion.

Fashion Is In The Scarf

It is said that “fashion is the outward showing of the inner self!” We show ourselves by what we wear. Bright colors show flamboyance and life, dull and drab shows a more reserved approach to daily life. The perfection of a well groomed suit or tailored dress shows the sophistication or professional side of a person’s approach. Lively designs show an attitude of fun and excitement while living just out side of the social box.

Then there is the fashion of a scarf. A silk scarf can show flamboyance through bright vibrant colors given off by the shimmering fabric of the silk. Silk scarves with multiple colored designs give the wearer an appearance of graceful movement. Bright silk designs give fun to every day life. The placement of a darker subdued scarf allows for a professional affect that echoes sophisticated yet conservative grace. This style of silk scarf affects the tone and atmosphere of any room the wearer attends.

It is the shimmer of a silk scarf that catches the attention of roaming eyes. Silk scarves glisten and shine with the fineness of silk fiber. Silk scarves are a fashion statement to be worn, to be admired, and to be seen. A fine silk scarf sets the tone for your fashion attire. Wear one and discover the difference of how you feel. Feel the affect of the colors. Feel the graceful youth of the cloth. See how the design changes your attitude and the attitude of others around you. Feel a silk scarf wrapped around you. Become the true you!

On the other hand the attitude of a cashmere scarf is very different from that of a silk scarf. Yes, the color still shows life and excitement. However this effect is more subtle. A cashmere scarf does not hold the shimmering shine of color. The hues of cashmere scarves are bold and strong due to the way the cloth holds the dye. The color holds you and wraps you yet does not dance away from you. The cashmere scarf becomes you.
Cashmere scarves have the look of elegant softness. Onlookers see the softness with their eyes they see the comfort you enjoy. A cashmere scarf is subdued and tells of sophistication. Elegance, classiness, and poise are all features of a cashmere scarf. Cashmere scarves are about the quality of the cloth. Cashmere scarves are about seen quality. A cashmere scarf is the fashion to be worn when comfort and grace are to be shown. Cashmere scarves are the fashion of warm refinement. Show your refinement, wear a cashmere scarf.

Find true warmth with an alpaca scarf. Alpaca scarves are more rugged than silk scarves or a cashmere scarf. Even in its ruggedness an alpaca scarf is ever so soft and comfortable. Alpaca scarves are warm. Alpaca scarves are like your old favorite wool scarf except an alpaca scarf does not share the smells or itches that you find with a wool scarf. The soft cloth of an alpaca scarf is not like anything else you have wrapped yourself in.

“Fashion is the outward showing of the inner self!” It is the Silk Scarf that will make you radiant with shimmering color. It is the Cashmere Scarf that will show your sophistication and grace. It is the Alpaca Scarf that will keep you warm and comfortable.
